For this photoshoot I wanted to try and draw on a quote from Letters to a Young Artist, that states, "your art is about describing your spirit and your life force makes the work better" (page 24). For me this shoot was about drawing on soft masculine energies to show the strength and power of humans, while also giving my model soft undertones which could show a more emotional side. In my own life I like to focus a lot on energies surrounding me, and I want to incorporate those energies and emotions into my art. This photoshoot was a little challenging for me because I have never worked with a model before with the main purpose of executing an artistic vision. I have done graduation and family shoots, but nothing where I had to focus on the models poses so that they accurately depicted the message I wanted to capture. In post I wanted to give them the old kind of feeling and in the slides it mentioned adding some grain to the photos, so I decided to use the grain feature to my disposal. I feel like the grain gives these images a softness and a little bit of a blur that compliments the model and helps me reach my goal for the photos.
